First day in Bali

Yesterday, when taking the taxi out to the surf camp I realized that this is a really pretty island. I went to sleep early to be waken up at 5.15 by a rude Indonesian surf instructur with an interesting hairdo "Hey!! Get up!! It's time to surf! Hurry up!!". I jumped out of bed and straight into my surf shorts, and we drove down to belanga, where we passed one of the other instructors familys house.

The waves were pretty small, but enough. After the first session, we went to the warung on the beach and for a banana pancake and some Indonesian coffee for breakfast. Sweet!! Much needed energy and very tasty! :-)

Then some more surfing of course. In total I managed to catch 5 waves on my own (!), and with a push from the surf instructor, yet another 7. Wow!! And I had it so difficult surfing in Portugal... A dolphin jumping at the horizon just perfected the setting…

In the evening, some massage and a much needed nasi goreng at the surfcamp.
