It seems like the stadium was built quite some time ago, and that the maintainance hadn’t really been a priority for some time. That was cool, as it just added to the atmosphere which was really dirty and tough, something like out of a shady martial arts movie.

This is just after the entrance. Check out this poster presenting the fighters and their serious faced managers on the top.
Us “farang’s” had to pay a 1000 bath to get in. Supposedly the Thai people much less, but it seems like they all spent that extra money on betting.

We didn’t get the ring side seats, nevertheless we had quite a good view from where we were, and the atmosphere with all the thais screaming and betting towards the end of the fights was priceless.

After the fights ended we took a tuk-tuk down to the Pat Pong night market. This tuk-tuk driver was probably the most crazy guy I met so far, he pressed the poor thing to the max, even managed to drive it on the back wheels and going at maximum velocity. Which was reached around 20km/h, but it felt a lot faster as the poor thing was roaring and complaining when he pressed it to go faster.
The night market itself was just like every other touristy market I’ve been to this far in asia. Sweaty, noisy and full of counterfeit stuff and other sorts of cheap crap with people trying their best to make you buy something. Paul bought a pair of sunglasses that lasted just about to the day after, when they broke right across the middle.
