The temples

On Tuesday I woke up really early despite the late return to the hostel the night before. We had agreed to go and see the temples “around 8-9 O’clock”, but it seemed like I was the only one up that early. Bummer, I could have slept more!

This is a lion just past the entrance of the “Wat Pho” temple we visited. It seems like the cats got inspired.

The site was enormous. We spent about two hours there but could easily have spent the double.

On the way to the boat to cross the river we went past the market.

Here’s “Wat Arun” in the distance. A temple just on the bank on the other side of the river.

Wat Arun left a bigger impression on me, especially as you could climb the temple and get quite high up. You can see in the pictures how steep the stairs are.
